Rev. Jeanette Cooper Hicks grew up in a Roman Catholic family, where faith and spirituality played a central role in her life. Her first call was to teaching elementary and then college students. God had plans, which lead her to seminary and ordained ministry. A life-long learner and avid reader, she studied at Vassar College, Western Connecticut State, Union Theological Seminary, Louisville Theological Seminary and Boston University Theological Seminary. She is a native of Philadelphia and married into the Navy which moved her family around as she served at Saint Matthews UMC, KY, Trinity UMC, NC, East Parish Church, MA, and The United Churches of Durham, CT. She became our pastor at Westbrook Congregational Church in the fall of 2022. In addition to congregational ministry, Pastor Jeanette is a certified Spiritual Director and Hospice volunteer. She and her husband, Al, have four children, bonus children, and a wonder-dog, Jack. They live in the shoreline of Connecticut.
