The First Congregational Church of Westbrook, Connecticut
Weddings
Westbrook Congregational Church is a charming sanctuary for a wedding with a center aisle, Italian stained-glass windows, classic wooden pews, and quality organ.
We are conveniently located near popular shoreline wedding facilities, so advance planning is essential. However, we are much more than a beautiful sanctuary with a prime location; we are a house of worship with a vital family of God's people. Since 1726, people have gathered on this hilltop in the heart of Westbrook to hear God's Word, serve our neighbors, and support each other in life's greatest joys and deepest sorrows. We love a wedding and all the joy it brings to a family and the larger family of God. If you marry at Westbrook Congregational Church, you become part of our long history and family.
Our pastor meets with all couples before agreeing to officiate a wedding and will lead couples through premarital preparations. She will officiate weddings for couples not part of our denomination or who are not official church members. She will officiate weddings for those who have experienced divorce or come from more than one faith tradition. As an Open and Affirming Congregation, we support the rights and dignity of all to marry, including the LGBTQ community. For planning purposes, please note that our historic sanctuary is not air-conditioned and serves as a Shoreline Soup Kitchen hot meal site on Friday evenings. There is no smoking or alcohol permitted on our campus. Couples interested should contact the pastor.
