The First Congregational Church of Westbrook, Connecticut Loving God, Serving Our Neighbor, Transforming Our Community
Funerals and Memorial Services
At Westbrook Congregational Church, our goal is to provide a space where individuals and families can come together for support during their grief. We offer funeral and memorial services as a way to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. Rev. Hicks conducts funeral and memorial services in our historic sanctuary, as well as at gravesides, funeral homes, and private services. Rev. Hicks works closely with Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home and recommends contacting them to make immediate arrangements following the loss of a loved one.

Each service is unique and planned with the family's wishes and needs in mind. As a former Navy spouse and Marine community pastor, Rev. Hicks is familiar with offering military honors and is often asked to officaite at Memorial and Veterans Day services. We have a monthly "Lunch Bunch" grief group for widows and widowers. Additionally, every year on the first Sunday in November, we hold an All Saints Sunday service, inviting all to collectively grieve and remember loved ones who have died in our church and in the broader community.
Planning a Service

At Westbrook Congregational Church, we understand the importance of honoring your loved one and the need to remember them well. That's why Rev. Hicks meets with families to connect and plan a meaningful and personal celebration of life. We are here for you beyond one day or ceremony, but to journey with you in the process of grief and healing. Westbrook Congregational Church is dedicated to supporting families during this difficult time of loss and to creating a beautiful ceremony that celebrates your loved one's life. Our music director is also available to add a special touch to your service. Honoraria and fees are associated with funeral and memorial services, which vary depending on the day of the week and your individual plans. Contact the Church Office with any questions and to schedule a meeting with our pastor.

As you plan, please note that the church does not provide reception space, catering, or food and beverage services. Families make these arrangements privately. Smoking or alcoholic beverages are not permitted on our campus.
